Relationships are defined by what people who are in them do, not what they say. As Christians, we're in a relationship with God. As members of the Central family, we're in a relationship with each other. We express these relationships in various ways:

Through our worship

As an expression of our relationships to God and each other, worship extends in two directions: upward to God and outward to each other. When we come together to worship, we hope to achieve the following:

  • Express our attitude (and gratitude) to God
  • Express our submission to God
  • Prepare for service to God
  • Build up the body of Christ

Through our service

As Christians, we're called to follow Jesus' example of service. In God's kingdom, Jesus tells us, greatness is defined by service:

Whoever wants to become great among you must be your servant, and whoever wants to be first must be slave of all. For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many.
(Mark 10:43-45 NIV)

Through our fellowship

What's a family without family time? Here are some of the ways we enjoy each other's company:

  • Fellowship meals
  • Annual church picnic
  • Service projects
  • Durham Bulls games
  • Youth gatherings
